What is Uncovering Autism?

Uncovering Autism is a movement dedicated to gaining a deeper understanding of how wellness plays a role in the quality of life for children living with ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder), between the ages of 7-14. ASD has been identified as a Neurodevelopmental Disorder by modern medicine, meaning the disorder stems from unique qualities in the brains of these children that manifest as an array of symptoms. The complexity of this condition makes every child unique, meaning there is no one size fits all approach to addressing these circumstances.

Modern Neuroscience shows that the brain can repair itself through a process called Neuroplasticity. Engaging in healthy behaviors such as exercise, healthy nutrition, mindfulness, and more can help to spark the growth of new brain tissue as well as new connections amongst various regions of the brain. There is a lack of concrete findings around how these various factors play a role in helping children with

ASD creates positive changes in the brain, ultimately leading to a better quality of life. We are in the process of conducting research at our clinics in Southern California to gain a deeper understanding of how wellness plays a role in the quality of life for children on the spectrum. Understanding how practical wellness interventions impact a child’s ability to function will create a new world of possibilities for them to reach their fullest potential.
